HelloThis little website has been designed to give you some helping hands in creating a few fun art activities for children, that will encourage them to grow & explore with little assistance, as well as linking to outcomes from the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). The type of projects I'll be exploring are collage based & designed for a variety of ages ranges. Hopefully you will find this useful & engaging for any children in your care. Happy reading :)
Let's talk about CollagesOriginally the word collage come from the French, meaning 'to glue'.
It is a technique used to create art, this achieved by gluing various different materials onto a single surface in layers. The usual suspect materials used are newspaper clippings, magazines, photographs, printed cloth or fabric, parts of envelops, pieces of wood or 3D embellishments. Some artists famous for their works of collage include: Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Henri Matisse, Kurt Schwitters & Eric Carle, the beloved writer & illustrator of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. |
